Welcome to Lofoten
Lofoten is well known for its beautiful nature all year round, from the northern lights and polar night of the winter to the midnight sun of the endless summer.
September and October are two of the best seasons to visit Lofoten before winter comes. It’s quiet after the high season, the northern lights start to light the sky, there are breathtaking and colourful sunsets and sunrises, and prices are much lower, perfect for student groups.
Skårungen is perfectly located in the middle of the archipelago, and that makes it a perfect basecamp to explore not only the area around us, which offers countless hikes and other activities, but also the entire Lofoten in a maximum of two hours drive to the very tip of the islands.
And, we have an unbeatable SPA, which includes a hot tub and sauna, which is famous among locals and also among travellers from all around the world.
Our special packages for Folkehøgskoler
We offer a very special package perfect for student groups, which includes accommodation and a special package in our waterfront cabins:
These traditional fishermen's cabins have 1 double room with a double or twin bed, and one more room with a double bunk bed, which consists of a double or twin bed on the lower level and a single bed on the upper level. There is also a fully equipped kitchen and a cosy living room with a dining table and a sofa. The bathroom is fully equipped with a nice toilet and shower. Students can also chill on the cabin’s terrace, just by the water facing the magnificent Vågakallen, one of the most iconic mountains in Lofoten.
About food, we can make a menu that suits your group. These are the options we offer:
Breakfast buffet: 199 KR.
Half pension: 500 KR.
Full pension: 600 KR.

The SPA
Our package includes 3 hours of FREE access to our newly renovated spa, which has a hot tub and sauna. It has become a must-visit attraction in the area among locals and also among travellers. We also offer a special price of 100,- NOK per person and per hour if the group wants to use it again.

We can definitely offer different accommodation options like hotel rooms or our brand new top-row cabins.
Activities from Skårungen
There are many activities we can offer. From bike rentals, SUP, glass canoes, RIB sea eagle safari to Trollfjord, surfing in Unstad, kayak tours around Henningsvær and Svolvær, fishing trips, guided hikes, and, of course, plenty of suggestions to explore the area. Note that we also have a big conference room that you can use during your stay as a meeting point with your students or even as a cinema.
